POSITIVE ACTIVITIES FOR YOUNG PEOPLE


P.A.Y.P. is a government funded programme aimed at:
reducing crime and anti-social behaviour among young people
providing support to young people at-risk of offending or social exclusion WHAT DOES PAYP OFFER?
Developmental and diversionary activities for 8-18 year olds. Young people have the opportunity to participate in:
WHERE IS PAYP AVAILABLE?
BASINGSTOKE - Youth Options deliver two PAYP programmes:
PAYP 12-15 YEAR OLDS - helping young people develop communication and teamwork skills, experience new activities, improve their confidence and self-esteem
PAYP YEAR 11 PROJECT - supporting Year 11 pupils during the transition period from school into further education, training or employment.
HAVANT & WATERLOOVILLE - Youth Options deliver three PAYP programmes:
BEHAVIOUR IMPROVEMENT PROGRAMME (BIP) - run in partnership with Crookhorn College of Technology and its feeder schools. Provides mentoring and support for young people during the transition from primary to secondary education
YEAR 11 PROJECT - working with 12 young men aged 15-17 in the Stakes Hill area and the local community centre to encourage them to access the community centre and engage with their community. Provides on-going support with the transition from school to further education, training or employment
PAYP 13-16 YEAR OLDS - provides a varied and stimulating holiday activity programme
NEW FOREST - Youth Options delivers two PAYP projects:
PAYP 8-12 YEAR OLDS - twelve young people referred through the Youth Inclusion and Support Panels (YASP) are supported to participate in an activity programme during school holidays designed to improve their confidence, their ability to interact with their peers and participate in new activities
PAYP 13-16 YEAR OLDS - this is a new scheme just being launched which will offer young people an opportunity to participate in a holiday activity programme that helps them develop new skills, improve their confidence and self-esteem and experience a range of new and exciting activities - CURRENTLY TAKING REFERRALS
