Youth Development Project

This project works predominately in the Thornhill area of Southampton providing a range of activities and events for 8-17 year olds that are vibrant, stimulating and fun but also deliver an educational message to young people about the dangers of substance and alcohol misuse, the importance of healthy lifestyles, promoting responsible attitudes towards sexual health and educating young people on a range of other safety issues.

The project works in close partnership with the staff team at Thornhill Youth Centre to deliver a stimulating and enjoyable programme of activities and opportunities throughout the year (have a link here to the Events page where the TYC programme will be included). Thornhill Youth Forum and the Young People’s Media Project are linked closely to the Youth Development Project and there are many opportunities for young people to gain a wide range of experience and skills through volunteering with the Youth Forum and the Media Project.

Activities at each event include: The project works closely with other projects in the area including Thornhill Youth Centre and IMPACT Youth Inclusion Project.
